Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to the questions we hear most — and how our team can help.
Below are answers to some of the most common questions about our coverages and how we work. Don't see yours? Reach out — we're happy to help.
Working With Our Agency
What does it mean that Integrity Insurance Benefits is an “independent” agency?
We're not captive to any single insurance company. Because we represent a range of carriers, we can compare plans across the marketplace and recommend the option that best fits your needs and budget — rather than steering you toward one company's products.
Does it cost anything to work with an agent?
In most cases, working with our agency doesn't increase your premium — an agent's compensation typically comes from the carrier rather than an added fee to you. We'll always be upfront about how a given product works.
What areas do you serve?
We're headquartered in Rockwall, Texas, and licensed to serve clients in multiple states. If you're not sure whether we're licensed in yours, just give us a call and ask.
Can you review my current coverage?
Absolutely. We're glad to review your existing policies, look for gaps or overlaps, and see whether there's an opportunity to improve your coverage or save money.
How do I get started?
The easiest ways are to call our office, request a quote, or schedule an appointment — whatever's most convenient for you.
Health Insurance
Do you offer individual and family health plans?
Yes. Whether you're shopping for yourself, your family, or you're self-employed, we can walk you through the available plan types and help you find the right fit.
When can I enroll in a health plan?
Most health coverage is purchased during the annual Open Enrollment Period. Outside of that window, you may qualify for a Special Enrollment Period after certain life events — like losing other coverage, moving, marriage, or having a baby.
What's the difference between a deductible, copay, and coinsurance?
In simple terms: a deductible is what you pay before your plan starts sharing costs; a copay is a flat amount for a specific service; and coinsurance is a percentage you share with the plan after your deductible. We'll help you weigh these when comparing plans.
Can you help small business owners with health coverage?
Yes — we handle both individual coverage and group benefits, so we can help you compare which approach makes more sense for your situation.
Life Insurance
What types of life insurance do you offer?
We work with term life, whole life, and indexed universal life (IUL), among others. Each works differently, and we'll help you understand the trade-offs before you decide.
How much life insurance do I need?
It depends on factors like your income, debts, dependents, and goals. Rather than guessing, we do a needs analysis with you to land on a coverage amount that actually protects the people who depend on you.
What's the difference between term and whole life?
Term covers you for a set period and is typically the most affordable; whole life lasts your lifetime and can build cash value over time. The right choice depends on your budget and what you want the policy to accomplish.
Do I need a medical exam to get covered?
It depends on the policy and carrier. Some options require an exam, while others offer simplified or no-exam underwriting. We can point you toward options that match your preferences.
Medicare & Senior
When am I eligible for Medicare?
Most people become eligible at age 65, though some qualify earlier due to certain disabilities or conditions. It's smart to start planning a few months before you turn 65.
What's the difference between Medicare Advantage and a Medicare Supplement?
A Medicare Supplement (Medigap) works alongside Original Medicare to help cover costs it leaves to you. A Medicare Advantage plan (Part C) is an all-in-one alternative offered by private insurers that often bundles medical and drug coverage. As an independent agency, we can explain the pros and cons of each for your situation.
When can I enroll in or change my Medicare plan?
There are specific windows — including your Initial Enrollment Period around age 65 and the Annual Enrollment Period each fall (October 15–December 7). Missing certain deadlines can lead to penalties, so timing matters.
What is the Part D “donut hole”?
It's a temporary gap in Medicare prescription drug coverage where your share of drug costs can increase for a stretch. Understanding it ahead of time helps you avoid surprises — something we're glad to walk you through.
Do you help with Long Term Care planning?
Yes. Long Term Care is one of the most overlooked retirement risks, and there are several ways to plan for it. We'll help you evaluate the options that fit your situation.
Group & Business Benefits
What size businesses do you work with?
We work with small and mid-size businesses looking for cost-effective, benefit-rich group plans.
What group coverages can you set up?
We can help with group health, dental, vision, disability, and life — and pair your business with the right combination of price and coverage.
Can you help us switch carriers or plans?
Yes. Because we're independent, we shop a wide range of carriers to find a better fit, and we manage the details so the transition is smooth for you and your employees.
Dental, Vision & Legal Plans
Do you offer standalone dental and vision plans?
Yes — you can shop dental and vision options through our partner, UnitedHealthOne. These are separate from major medical coverage and make a convenient supplement.
What are the legal and identity theft plans?
These are membership-style plans that give you access to legal help and identity-theft protection — including a dedicated option for commercial drivers. You can explore and enroll in all legal & identity plans through our partner.
Are these plans the same as my health insurance?
No — dental, vision, and legal/identity plans are separate products that complement your other coverage rather than replace it.
